Hosted by DJ and musician Steen, Open Decks is a creative and fun space where DJs can hang and share their house and techno music live. Hear your favorite or original tracks on Silo's front room sound system, a custom 10,000 watt Danley powerhouse. Those that want to play should talk to Steen to sign-up. Sign-up is in person at the event only, slots are 12 minutes. We'll select names randomly from the sign-up list throughout the night. You'll get a half hour notice before your set time. SILO is a new 500-cap multi-genre music and event space built in a converted hangar in East Williamsburg, the hub of Brooklyn's new nightlife scene. Fully fitted to deliver the ultimate multi-sensory experience, SILO looks forward to hosting DJs and producers representing the vast universe of dance music and the cultures and communities that have grown up around them. There is no guiding genre or standard BPM; rather, there is an energy that will permeate the dance floor and an ethos that lends itself to the open-minded exploration of sound.
